Cristian Effa, Owner, Manager and Host

Cristian Effa is 37, married and has one daughter - Agustina. He graduated as an Agricultural Engineer on 2001, but his spirit led him to look for tourism related ventures linked to fly fishing in unspoiled areas. Together with his wife Maria de los Angeles Castro they are the founders and creators of Picacho Lodge.

Cristian arrived in the valley with his father, Carlos Effa and his partner, William Mckeen 25 years ago, with the clear idea of developing a fishing lodge where care and respect for the environment were paramount.

In 2003 the first facility was built, a simple family vacation retreat that would then become the current house for the Picacho Lodge staff. Then in 2004-05 the main lodge for visitors was built.

Cristian works as manager and host, accompanying and assisting the staff at all times and together with Juan Claudio Vega (project manager from the beginning) has formed a solid working team.

Cristian is a very unassuming and professional person when running the lodge where he has developed a high quality lodge and fishing environment proven year after year when a high number of clients return and of course by the favorable testimony by new visitors to the Picacho Lodge.
